March 3, 2021: In a very short period of time, Texas freezes over, killing many, due to the state’s reliance on a corporate power grid instead of one funded by their government. That same company which operates the state’s power grid has upped the cost of use, putting many of those who survive into major financial trouble. All of this while their Senator, Ted Cruz (who continued to object to the Presidential election results even after his lies caused people to storm the Senate) decided to go on vacation to Cancun, saying his daughters forced him to. Then their governor, Greg Abbot, decided to pull back his state’s mask mandate as well as allow all businesses to open 100%. This, while the death-rate is going up in his state, and the existence of the vaccine means that staying closed a few more months could save hundreds, if not thousands of lives. March 17, 2021: How Hate Works - Step 1: Say hateful things on TV blaming one specific group for a virus that everybody is susceptible to. Step 2: A violent crime occurs, or more than one, that specifically targets people the violent person associates with that group. Step 3: The police thinks the violent person’s rampage came out of nowhere, as they suggest that you can’t link causation of hateful actions to the normalization of hateful words.
